Second Samuel Chapter 5
If God Says He’s Going To Do Something, Then He’ll Do It.
Now that the king of the 11 tribes was dead, the Elders of those tribes came to David in Judah and said they will anoint him as their new king over all Israel and all Judah.
God had told David that he would be king over all Israel and Judah. It took several years but he fulfilled that promise. And as the new king, he immediately faced the challenge of three different wars.
Each time David sought the Lord on whether or not he should go into battle and each time God promised he would give him victory, and he did.
Perhaps in your prayer time and in your time of reading God’s word, you have felt God is wanting to do something in and through your life. If He has been speaking to you about this matter, then he’ll do it. If you’re questioning these thoughts, then keep pursuing the Lord. He’ll keep confirming his desire through his word, through your prayers, through other people, and/or through life circumstances.
When I was contemplating whether God was calling me as the new executive director at Edinboro camp, he put random people in my life as a way of confirming his calling. Random people not knowing I was contemplating this position, said to me, “You should put your application in at Edinboro camp because you would make a great executive director.”
These are just examples of the many different ways God confirmed his calling. He’ll do the same for you. Keep seeking him with all your heart. If he’s calling you for something, then he’ll confirm it.
