Second Chronicles Chapter 15
Are You Really Listening?
God sent a prophet to King Asa of Judah to warn him. “Listen to me,” the Lord said. “If you seek me I will let you find me. But if you forsake me, I will forsake you.”
After hearing these words, King Asa took courage and tore down all the false idols and restored the altar of the Lord. Then he gathered all the people together and they made a covenant to the Lord to love him with all their heart and soul. Then they sacrificed over 7,000 animals to the Lord. As a result, God gave them rest from all sides.
Are you listening? I mean really listening? When God spoke to King Asa, King Asa was REALLY listening because he didn’t just hear God’s words and walk away. He actually listened and took action after hearing God’s words. May we respond as King Asa did and seek the Lord with all our hearts and make the necessary changes to get right with God. Then may we also call family and loved ones together and encourage them to serve and love the Lord with all their heart and soul. Be a leader as King Asa was. God said if you seek me, I’ll let you find me. If you forsake me, I’ll forsake you. Please hear these words. They were important then, they are just as important now! Are you listening? I mean REALLY listening?
