Second Chronicles Chapter 14
Heavenly Rewards Versus Earthly Rewards.
After Abijah’s death, Asa his son became king in his place. Because Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and commanded Judah to follow and obey the Lord God, God allowed them to prosper on earth, and even defeat an army almost twice their size.
To me, the key is being faithful to the Lord, but not just us as individuals but it’s important for the men of the household to be the spiritual leaders of their household. Never quit promoting and encouraging Christ, and never quit being the role model for your family.
Whether we prosper as Judah did or not on this Earth, may we always pursue hard for the Lord so we can obtain the greatest reward which is in heaven. Philippians 3:14 says, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Let the heavenly rewards be what drives and motivates our faith verses letting the temporary earthly rewards be what controls our hearts and decisions.
