Second Chronicles Chapter 11. Was there a Transformation?
When Rehoboam became king over Judah and Israel, he was rejected by Israel and they refused to accept him as their King because he was full of arrogance and pride was going to treat them harshly and even was ready to fight against them for rejecting him as king.
Jeroboam headed up Israel against King Rehoboam.
At first, I felt sorry for Israel and was against King Rehoboam and his attitude. But something happened. Was it a transformation of the heart?
As time went on, Jeroboam rejected the Levites and appointed his own priest who set up false idols to worship, while King Rehoboam became a very wise King as he provided food for the cities and made them a strong military force. And it says that he walked in the ways of the Lord for 3 years.
Now I find myself rooting for King Rehoboam instead of Jeroboam because it appears a real transformation of his heart occurred. He’s not who he used to be.
What’s our transformation? Have we gone from good to worse like Jeroboam or have we gone from bad to good like Rehoboam? How has God been working in your life and bringing change?
