Ruth Chapter 3
What Impression Do You Leave On Others?
Naomi instructed Ruth, her daughter-in-law, to be bold and approach Boaz with an act of kindness in hopes he would find favor in her and want to marry her. When she did her act of kindness Boaz said the following:
1) Ruth, your act of kindness is better than any other act of kindness you have shown me.
2) Then he said, “…don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of ‘chayil'”
This is a Hebrew word meaning a person of strength, strong influence, of excellence, or noble character.
3) Bosz said he would seek her hand in marriage if a closer kin before him did not want to take her hand in marriage.
Ruth was highly respected by so many people because of her character traits and qualities. If we would but strive, by God’s strength, to be a person of excellence and Noble character, we would impact so many lives and gain the respect of so many people. Think of how our coworkers, our peers, our bosses, our teachers, our authorities would be impressed by us.
More importantly, think of how much of a testimony that would be for our Lord Jesus! What impression do you leave on others?
