Romans Chapter 6

We Are No Longer Slaves To Sin.

It is important to know that God’s grace is greater than any sin we have or could ever commit. But that doesn’t mean we now have an excuse to sin since God’s grace is abundant over sin. Grace is not an excuse for us to sin, but is available to us if we do sin. Since we have died to sin we are no longer to live in sin. We have been raised with Christ into a new life and now called to live a life of righteousness.

We are united in death like Jesus: our old life of sin was crucified with Christ so our life of sin could be done away with. We also, therefore, was resurrected with Jesus into a new life set free from the bondage of sin. We no longer live a life enslaved by sin but live a new life with Christ in righteousness which leads to holiness.

Sin is no longer our master. We’re no longer slaves to sin but slaves to Christ. Therefore, as willing slaves to Christ, we are obedient to his call for righteousness.

The penalty of sin is death in hell, but the gift of God, through Jesus Christ, is eternal life in heaven. Any idea on which of the two is the better option? 😃
