Is Everyone’s Faith Supposed To Be Like Mine?

In chapter 14 it says, “Accept those whose faith is weak without passing judgment or quarreling over disputable matters.”

We must be careful how we judge others to ensure we aren’t looking down upon them because they don’t live out their faith the same way we do. Whether that relates to: wearing masks, how often they are in church each week, what percentage they tithe, how often they witness, etc. The proper attitude is we should all be selfless in our decisions, not thinking of ourselves only. Rather, whatever we do should be done for the Lord. So whether I tithe 5% or 20%, it should be done for the Lord and not for myself or others.

Also be careful that you don’t brag about what you do compared to someone else for fear that you will cause them to stumble or speak evil of you. Let what you do be between you and God versus trying to stir up problems because your faith is different than someone else’s. Our focus should be on being righteous before God, keeping peace amongst others, and having the joy of the Lord. This approach is very pleasing to God and will be pleasing to others because they’re not made to feel like their faith is crap or that they are less significant. Sometimes, be willing to change your practice in an area that you know will offend another’s faith. Do it to keep peace. Remember to let your faith practice be between you and God versus trying to stir up some weak person’s Faith walk with God.
