Romans Chapter 10
How Beautiful are Those Who Share the Good News of Jesus.
Paul starts right off by saying that it is his heart’s desire and prayer to God that all the Israelites may be saved. They are zealous for God but they lack the knowledge of knowing, accepting, and following Jesus. They follow God based upon emphasizing good works. Which is the emphasis of all religions: be good. But Christianity speaks of forgiveness of sins for those who confess with their mouths Jesus as Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised him from the dead.
Paul emphasizes how important it is to share this good news because people aren’t just going to accept Jesus out of mid-air.
It is my heart’s desire to see people get saved. And I want to be sent. I want God to use me to share the good news of Jesus, whether they accept or reject the good news.
I want to see people confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord for the forgiveness of their sins and I want to see them believe in their hearts that Jesus is the son of God who lived, died, and rose from the dead so we could be made holy and righteous. I don’t want their belief to just be head knowledge. Belief that his head knowledge is dead and inactive. But believing in one’s heart results into a changed life and an active commitment to get the good news out. And God says how beautiful are those who get the word out.
Questions:
1. Have you confessed with your mouth a faith or belief in Jesus?
2. Do you believe this in your heart resulting into a life commitment? Or is it just head knowledge resulting in an inactive faith walk?
3. Have you surrendered everything to the Lord so you can be a servant who shares the good news of Jesus to those around you and maybe even those around the world?
This is something I need to think about!
