Revelation Chapter 9
You’re Not Listening!
In this chapter we see the 5th and 6th Angel sounding their trumpets. The fifth angel had locusts and the sixth angel had horsemen. Both had the appearance of that which would scare anyone.
The locust had the power to torture those who denied the Lord. The people were tortured for 5 months. The torture was so great that the people would want to die, but they would not be able to.
The horseman had the power to destroy 1/3 of humankind. Again, their appearance was frightening. The power was great beyond great. A third of humankind was killed and sadly the 2/3 still alive did not repent of their sins. It doesn’t make sense! How could something so horrific happen and not cause people to repent and get right with God with 100% surrendered hearts?
Seriously though, and probably just as sad, we may not be much different. I wonder how often God tries to get my attention to stop and spend time with him and I don’t listen? Or He allows me to go through trials and tribulations in hopes of getting my attention so he can make his will known to me? How many times has he confronted me with sin and I chose to continue in it? I guess you could say, “I’m not listening?”
I believe God wants to bless us, not so we can gloat about it or hoard our blessing and gifts but so we would allow him to use our blessings and gifts to touch the lives of others while bringing glory to his name.
How much of our heart have we given to the Lord? Perhaps he’s wanting to bless us more and we aren’t listening. Again, such blessings are so others can be blessed for the glory of God. Are you listening?
