Revelation Chapter 6
Do You Have The Peace Of God?
I challenge you, as you read the book of Revelation, to have a commentary that gives you different thoughts for interpretation. It can be very enlightening.
I want to focus on the second seal that Christ opened. We see a fiery red horse with a rider who had the power to remove peace from the earth resulting in making people kill each other.
When the peace of God is removed, then comes war and destruction. Such destruction can come in different forms.
Without the peace of God can come hatredness for others resulting into the death of many. But without the peace of God can also come feelings of hopelessness resulting in the death of oneself, suicide.
The only place to find true peace is in a relationship with Jesus Christ. People look for it in relationships, in peer groups, in money, in power, in doing good, but true, everlasting peace can only be obtained through a relationship with Jesus.
The search for peace in people and things only result in temporary peace that eventually results in discouragement, which can result into great battles within ourselves and with others.
Read Philippians 1:7, Colossians 3:15, 2nd Thessalonians 3:16.
