Revelation Chapter 2
Strengths and Weaknesses.
Chapter 2 focuses on four of the seven letters that are being sent to four of the seven churches.
I want to highlight one thing mentioned about each Church.
1. Church in Ephesus: Jesus says that the love they first had for the Lord has gradually been replaced by things in the world. They are called to evaluate their fallen hearts and repent. Do we need to do the same?
2. Church in Smyrna: Jesus tells them that for 10 days some will be put in prison, some will be persecuted, some will be put to death as a way of seeing if they will be faithful to the Lord. I pray that each of us will remain faithful to the Lord no matter what happens to us in this world, which is gradually falling from the Lord.
3. Church in Pergamum: this church has remained true to the name of Jesus without renouncing their faith. May we be just like that.
4. Church in Thyatira. They’re good deeds, their love and faith, their servant hearts and perseverance in hard times are now actually more than when they first started following the Lord.
If that could only be said about us. If we look back on our lives, our faith and desire to follow him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, should grow stronger. Is it?
