Revelation Chapter 16
Don’t be so Stubborn!
God’s wrath (seven bowls) were poured out on the earth causing seven different plagues which affected all those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
1st: the plague of ugly, festering sores.
2nd: the sea turned into blood causing all living things in the sea to die.
3rd: the rivers and springs of water also turned into blood which the people had to drink.
4th: the sun scorched the people like fire.
5th: the throne of the beast was cursed and his kingdom plunged into darkness.
6th: the great river Euphrates dried up causing the Kings to gather together from around the world against the Almighty God at Armageddon.
7th: the air was filled with flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, followed by an earthquake like none ever before seen with hailstones weighing 100 lbs.
The people responded to the plagues by cursing God, refusing to repent of their sins and glorifying God.
Sounds pretty stubborn to me. Before I get to judgmental, perhaps I should evaluate my life very carefully. Are there sins God is calling me to repent from but I keep going back to? May I be careful how I judge others while I struggle in areas myself.
