Read Zechariah Chapter 4.
Stop Relying On Your Power! Rely on God’s Power!
God appeared to the prophet Zechariah and said that Zerubbabel started the project of rebuilding the Temple and he will finish it. Overseeing the rebuilding of the Temple was a HUGE, and I mean HUGE, project. If you would have seen the desolation of the Temple as it laid in its ruined state, you would have said, “This is an impossible task.” That is why God told the prophet to say to Zurubbabel, “Not by human might, nor by my human power, will I be able to accomplish what God has called me to, but by the power of the Spirit of the Living God.”
This is the thought process we must have as we approach each and every day. God has a task for us everyday. The moment we think, “I got this,” is the moment we set ourselves up to fail or be humbled.
Think of a Ministry you were a part of where God moved in a mighty way. The tendency is to pat ourselves on the back, and tell ourselves, “Good Job!”
Hey, we went from 53 kids the first night, to 68 kids the second night at VBS. Who gets the credit for that? To God be the GLORY! God used us because of our willing hearts, but he definitely gets the Glory!
What circumstances are before you? What are you facing today? Good news: it’s not by your might or by your power that you can accomplish today’s tasks. But it’s by the Spirit of the Living God.
When God calls us to a particular task, from our human eyes, it looks huge and impossible. But from God’s eyes, it’s an easy task requiring a willing heart to be obedient to the task. Yes, it will be hard work. Yes there will be obstacles and delays. Yes it will require patience, perseverance, Faith and Trust in the Living God who can do all things.
Stay focused on the task before you. Quit listening to the devil and his lies.
Don’t give up. You can accomplish what God has laid before you, not by your might but by his Spirit.
