Read Proverbs chapter 9
I Love Being Rebuked!!!
Wisdom is personified again as one who built a house and prepared food and drink and then invites all to come and eat and drink so they may learn (vs 1-6).
What are we feeding on each day? Are we feeding on God’s word and his truth? Are we studying scriptures and learning Bible verses and godly principles? Or does social media captivate all our free time?
Solomon gives wise advice (vs 7-9) saying, “Correcting a mocker or the wicked only results in insults, abuse, and hatredness. But rebuke a wise and righteous person and they will love you and add to their learning.” Do we love to be rebuked? LOL, probably not. Yet we all need to learn to accept constructive criticism. Don’t be quick to lash at someone who loves you enough to point out areas of concern in your life. Yes, we hate to be rebuked but we must learn to swallow our pride, think through what was said, and then learn from it. It will only make us a better and wiser person.
