Read Proverbs Chapter 7
Guard God’s Word So It’s Not Easily Taken From Our Hearts.
When it comes to the word of God and his wisdom and understanding, Solomon says to do the following:
Vs. 1-5 Keep the words. Store them up within you. Guard them. Bind them. Write them on your hearts. Can you imagine how we could save ourselves a lot of aggravation if we truly did Keep, Store and Guard the Words of God?
He says if we do these things we will live because we will be making godly decisions versus giving into temptations.
Vs. 10-23 Solomon speaks of a young man who is seduced by a prostitute. He succumbs to her persuasive words and goes with her. Little does he know his actions will cost him his life.
Vs. 24-27 If only he would have listened to Solomon’s words.
Once we take our eyes off of God’s word, we make ourselves susceptible to being led astray. If only we could see the consequences of our actions so as to save ourselves from humiliation or from despair. The pleasures of this world are only temporary and are destructive to our soul. May we listen to the Holy Spirit’s voice and be faithful to God and not be led astray. May we GUARD God’s word in our hearts and be a light for Jesus in a dark world.
