Read Proverbs Chapter 23
Take Heed To These Sayings Of The Wise.
This chapter mentions 13 of the 30 sayings of the wise. I’ll mention 6 of them.
1. Don’t wear yourself out to get rich. It will only become your god. There’s nothing wrong in wanting to make more money but when you become consumed with it, you’ll focus so much attention to it that your spiritual growth and relationship with the Lord become secondary to your life. Not a good idea.
2. Don’t waste your time trying to reason with a fool. They want nothing to do with what you have to say.
3. When someone speaks words of wisdom to you, apply it to your life! Don’t be a stubborn fool that pushes it aside as if it doesn’t apply to you or that you are above it.
4. Removing discipline from your child only sets them up to make bad decisions in life.
5. Who has troubles and sorrows? Don’t let alcohol be your choice for easing your pain. It will destroy you.
6. Last but not least don’t envy sinners, but instead be zealous for the Lord. That’s where your hope comes from.
