Read Proverbs Chapter 10
I’m Hurting Financially!
I highlighted one of the Proverbs in this chapter:
“Lazy hands lead to poverty while hard-working hands bring wealth.”
My parents taught us kids to always be hard workers. Show me a hard worker and I’ll show you a person who’s willing to fight through financial difficulties. That’s not to say you won’t ever be in financial need. It’s tough making ends meet in today’s world no matter how hard you work. We’ve been through tough times and God has used other people to help us in our time of need. I’ve had to swallow my pride a few times but God does use others to help us. Embrace it, then be willing to help others when they are in need.
Now, show me a lazy person, and I’ll show you a person who lacks self discipline and motivation to work. As a result they become very reliant upon others. Sadly, it’s hard to motivate them to get a job.
I have a friend who is disabled. It’s hard for him to work. Yet he does everything possible to get work so he has some kind of income. I have learned a lot from him about being self-disciplined and motivated.
Dear Lord, you have given me gifts and abilities. Help me use them to the fullest so that I can be a blessing and provider for my family and to others.
