Does God Have A Case Against You?
God had a case against Israel and had them on trial. He asked them questions and wanted to hear their defense.
“What have I done to you and how have I wearied you? Answer me!” Have you forgotten what I’ve done for you. I brought you up from the land of Egypt and ransomed you from the house of slavery.
God reveals how he wants his people to approach him. He wasn’t impressed with their burnt offerings nor did he take delight in their expensive possessions. No, God declares what he wants from his people:
1. Love Justice. 2. Love kindness. And 3. Walk humbly with God.
In other words, God is concerned about how we treat others and doesn’t want us to lose focus of him and what he has done for us.
Does God have a case against us because of where our hearts are at? Have you forgotten what God did through his son Jesus in order to ransom us from our sin? Have we allowed ourselves to be enticed so that our committed love relationship with the Lord is affected?
Is your relationship with God all about him or all about yourself? God is not impressed with our spiritual display. Let us not brag about how often we go to church or read our Bible. Let us not try and impress God or others with how much money or possessions we have. Let us impress God and others with our humble heart. Humility is the key to being a true servant of God and a true servant to others. It’s not all about you. It must be all about God.
Does God have a case against you? Are you God focused or self-focused? God, may we all approach you with a humble heart that opens the door to TRUE SERVANT HOOD and TRUE LOVE for YOU and OTHERS.
