Read Micah Chapter 3
To Live Or Not To Live With God’s Power, That Is The Question.
God confronts all the leaders of Israel because of all of their wickedness, including the priests and the prophets. They all speak lies and practice evil, and lead people astray. In verse 11 we see where they claim God is in their midst and no calamity will come against them. However, God has removed his power from them and says, “Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins!”
Verse 8 says, ” On the other hand, the prophet Micah, is filled with power – with the Spirit of God.” Micah is filled with Justice and courage and able to confront the sins of Israel.
When God compares the lives of the wicked leaders to that of Micah, the prophet of God, there’s no comparison. God declares that his power is removed from the leaders so that they are put to shame, and death is their destination. Micah, on the other hand, is filled with the Holy Spirit. Therefore he speaks with truth and power, with boldness and courage. His words speak Life and not death.
What are you listening to in this world today? Are you trapped in a world of death? Do you look at your life and feel overcome by temptation, by worries, by loneliness, by fear, or anxiety and depression? Are you so overcome and beat down by the things of death, that when you speak, it’s complaining, words of hopelessness, or words of defeat? Is there a dark cloud over your head affecting how you see yourself, and your future. Has the power of God been removed because the lies of the devil have overtaken you?
Good news! God is Hope! He can empower you to be able to rise above your circumstances and walk in victory. Yes, you’ll have bad days, but he can give you Joy, Hope and Power in your life. He will give you boldness and courage to speak TRUTH while not fearing what others will say. You don’t have to live in the valley of darkness every day. God wants to give you life that captures the attention of others. To walk with a powerless life is depressing and others won’t want to be around that. People want to see Hope and Joy. God empower me so that my words and my life are a testimony of the power of your Holy Spirit.
