Read Matthew Chapter 9:18-34
Wow! I Wish I Could Be Like That!
As Jesus was speaking, a synagogue official came to Jesus and bowed before him saying, “My daughter has just died, BUT come and lay your hand on her and she will live.
While Jesus was on his way to the official’s house, a woman who was suffering from a hemorrhage for 12 years came up behind Jesus and touched his garment. For she had been saying to herself that if she just touches His garment she knows she will be well. And she was healed! Then Jesus went to the official’s house and took his dead daughter’s hand and she rose from the dead.
As Jesus continued with his travels, two Blind Men were following Jesus crying out, “Have Mercy on us, Son of David!” They believed that Jesus could heal them so Jesus touched their eyes and they were healed.
Immediately after, a man who could not speak and was demon possessed, was brought to Jesus. Jesus then cast out the demon and the man began to speak.
Jesus did 4 miracles, back to back. Here’s what I found interesting about this:
1. These people, in desperation, came to Jesus and did so with such faith.
– The official said that his daughter was dead BUT he knew Jesus could heal her.
– The woman with the hemorrhage problem said if I just touch His garment I know I’ll be healed.
– The 2 Blind Men said they believed Jesus could heal them.
– Those who brought the mute person with a demon did so acting in faith.
2. Those healed, and those who saw the healing, couldn’t keep their mouths shut. They had to share the testimony of the work of Christ.
Vs 26 says: News of Jesus’s healing went out to all the land.
Vs 31 says: They spread the news about Jesus in all that land.
Vs 33 says: The people said nothing like this was ever seen in Israel.
3. Jesus loved people and people were drawn to Jesus. How loving are we to others? Are people drawn to us because of our love? Are we loving and caring? Do we show Mercy or are we quick to judge others.

3. Who’s that one person who is loving to you and that you are drawn towards? May you be that towards others.
