How Do You Respond To Jesus In Your Heart?
The MAGI: The Magi wanted to find Jesus, the King of the Jews and worship him, and they did.
KING HEROD: King Herod feared Jesus would overpower him as a king and did all he could to ensure Jesus was killed.
AN ANGEL OF THE LORD: an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph three times as a messenger to protect Jesus from being killed.
JOSEPH: Joseph, with hesitancy and fear, was obedient to follow the directives from the Angel of the Lord.
When it comes to Jesus, how do you respond to his desire to be King or Lord of your life?
Like the Magi, does it excite you and you find yourself wanting to meet with him daily and worship him. Psalms 42:1-2.
Or like King Herod, are you threatened by Jesus and you want to do all you can to keep control of your own life? Why do we struggle so to be in control? Why do we think our plan is better than God’s? Or why do we think that God needs our help because out of fear we don’t trust him.
AN ANGEL OF THE LORD: or are you like the angel of the Lord? You are God’s messenger and you want to share the message of Jesus to your family and friends because you want to protect them from the place called hell. Or out of fear, do you prefer to be silent about Jesus.
JOSEPH: Or are we like Joseph, we are obedient to God’s directives for our lives? Yes, fear still enters our hearts but we fight through the fear and obey the Lord.
What’s your response to the name of Jesus? Excitement. Worship. Threatened. Fear. Messenger to the Lost. Obedient?
