Am I Listening So That I Truly Understand God’s Call To Bear Fruit?
As the Sower continued planting seeds, some fell on good soil and yielded a crop, an abundant amount. Jesus compares that to a man who hears God’s word and UNDERSTANDS IT; and definitely BEARS FRUIT.
I still pray, “God, I don’t want to be a pastor that starts out with your vision to be transformed by Your Word and Impact Lives, only to get so busy that I lose the heart of ministry. I don’t want to just do Ministry for the sake of saying I do something. I want to impact lives and bear fruit!”
Jesus said in verse 9, “He who has an ear to hear, let him hear.” I don’t want to be like those Isaiah the prophet spoke about in chapter 6. I don’t want to be the person who hears the word of God and even sees the work of God but never truly understands what it is saying. If I hear and see but I don’t understand it, then it’s hard to bear fruit.
This Is My Prayer And May It Be Yours Also:
“Dear Lord, I want to bear fruit for the kingdom of God and not my kingdom. So God, strip me of myself and fill me with your Holy Spirit. Use me to impact lives. Reveal my gifts so they aren’t sitting stagnant on a shelf but being used to the fullest. I want a heart of repentance and humility so that I’m daily being transformed into the image of Christ, then I want your heart of compassion. I want a heart that is broken over the lost. I want your heart so that I invest into the lives of people. May your Spirit permeate my whole life so that no matter where I am or what I’m doing, it’s an opportunity to bear fruit for you, Lord! Amen!”
