Read Matthew Chapter 11:7-11
If You Think You’re Great Now, You’ll Be Even Greater In Heaven.
Jesus begins to speak to the crowd about John the Baptist. He confirmed that John the Baptist was a prophet, but he was actually more than a prophet. He was actually the one chosen to prepare the way for the Lord Jesus.
In fact, Jesus said, “On Earth no one was greater than John the Baptist. Yet for those in heaven, the least of them are greater than John the Baptist.”
Perhaps we all know someone who has been a great role model for the Lord. We may even say, “They are the greatest!” But compared to those in heaven, there is no comparison. Strong Christians on Earth will still be imperfect, capable of falling in sin. Those in heaven are those experiencing their full reward for being faithful to the Lord on earth. Now they are sinless, and free from temptations. Now they are able to display a greatness beyond our understanding. They are full of greater joy for the Lord. Praising God in a way they never did on Earth. The greatness of God has a new meaning that drives them to be greater in their response to who God really is. This hopefully encourages you to strive for more and more of Jesus. Never be content where you are at in your walk with Christ. Keep pursuing him with all your heart. Keep a hunger for his word.
So strive for perfection by the grace of God by fighting off temptations through the help of the Holy Spirit, and by hungering for the Word of God. Be in the Word!!
