Wouldn’t You Love To See The Lord One Day?
Verse 8 says, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.”
Shouldn’t that be our end goal: to one day be with the Lord in heaven forever?
The key is to be pure in heart. To be 100% PURE is to be void of any evil. To be pure in HEART means our whole being: our thought life and every action we make.
Obviously we can’t do that 100% but it should be what we strive for daily with the help of the Holy Spirit. It requires a daily surrender of our lives. It’s being aware of the devil and his lies. He’ll do everything possible to water down God’s truth and entice us away from God and into sin. He knows our weaknesses and he preys on it. What may be a weakness for me may be your strength. And what might be my area of strength, may be your area of weakness. The devil knows our weaknesses and will prey on it daily in order to tear us down so we think and do evil. We can’t listen to his lies. If we are enticed into an area of sin, over and over again, we eventually feel dirty and unforgivable. Yes, we are called to repent of sins. But one’s area of weakness can become one’s life struggle.
Yet, God’s love never ends. His grace and mercy is laid out before us. We can confess our sins daily and when we do he is faithful and just, and will forgive us of our sins. God will make us holy and pure again so that we can stand before Him in the righteousness of Christ.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I want to be pure, clean, and holy before you. I need the help of your Holy Spirit. Thank you for the forgiveness of sin. Thank you for the victories in my life. But those areas where I continue to fall, may your grace abound all the more and help me, and empower me so that I can be more than conquerors. I confess my weaknesses and inability to have victory on my own. I need you. Help me I pray, in Jesus’s name, amen!
