Read Matthew 27:47-52
I Have Direct Access To God Almighty Through Jesus.
As Jesus hung on the cross, he at one time said, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” When the crowd heard him, some of them thought Jesus was calling out to Elijah. One person hurried and got him a drink of sour wine on a sponge, probably to revive him, since they thought Elijah may be coming for him.
But then Jesus cried out one last time, then he died. What happened after Jesus died?
1. The Earth shook and the rocks were split.
2. The veil of the temple was torn in two.
This is very significant because the veil was what separated the Israelites from the Holy of Holies in the temple. God dwelt in the Holy of Holies and no one could come into His presence because of their sin. Only a priest, after going through a lot of cleansing rituals, was allowed to enter into the Holy of Holies. He went on behalf of the people so their sins could be forgiven through a sacrifice. But, now, Jesus became the perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. He died once for all. This enables us all to have direct access to God. The veil is no longer necessary. Through Christ, we become one of his children, we are forgiven, and we are made righteous. Therefore, we can now go before the Lord directly. I hope you can understand the reconciling power of Jesus. Without Jesus, we are dead in our sins, destined to hell. But because of the work of Christ we are made alive Again as a new person in Christ.
I pray that you will go directly to Jesus and surrender Your Life for the forgiveness of your sins. Then I pray that you will follow him, now and forever.
