Read Matthew 27:33-44
Part 2 – Don’t Be Blind To The Truth About Yourself!
As you read about the crucifixion of Jesus in this chapter, we see how mistreated Jesus was. There was a lot of mocking and abuse: verbal and physical. Jesus persevered through it and did not give up. He didn’t let the things everybody was saying, and doing, overcome his spirit. It did not break him. It did not destroy him. He was able to stay focused and was empowered by God to complete the work God had for him at the cross.
I pray God would help us when people say negative things about us, or are abusive toward us with their words or actions. I pray that our hearts and spirits are not broken and that it does not destroy us, nor blind us to the TRUTH!! The TRUTH is we are fearfully and wonderfully made. The Lord is constantly saying beautiful and wonderful comments about us, more numerous than the sand counted on the seashore (Psalms 139).
Jeremiah 29: 11-13 and Colossians 1:16: God has a plan and purpose for each of us. He wants to use us to accomplish his purpose, his plan, and bring glory to his name, while impacting the lives of others. Do not stay in an environment that is toxic and feeds negativity and lies to your spirit. Remove yourself, if possible. There are those who are trapped and unable to remove themselves from such toxicity and lies.
Dear Lord, protect those who have been blinded from the TRUTH of who they are in you. Protect their spirit. Restore them to the TRUTH. Surround them with love and with those who will speak life into them. Empower them through your spirit so that they are able to persevere through the lies and do the work that you’ve called them to do on Earth. Amen!
