Read Matthew 26:51-56
“It Must Happen This Way.”
When Judas betrayed Jesus into the hands of a multitude of people with swords and clubs, Peter drew his sword and struck the slave of the high priest and, as a result, cut off his ear. Jesus immediately said to Peter, Put your sword away. Do you really think I need your help? If it was necessary, I could call out to my Father and he would provide 72,000 Angels at my disposal?
But Jesus said, I don’t need to call out to my Father because, “It must happen this way.” Meaning , He must suffer and die in order to provide forgiveness of sins to the world. He said, “All this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled.”
It was then that the disciples left Jesus and fled.
What are you going through? Have you ever felt overwhelmed that nothing was going like you thought it should? Nothing was making sense? As a result, you have feelings of wanting to run away, or even run from Jesus? You want to flee like the disciples did for the same reasons that they did.
What are those reasons?
1. You can’t see the BIG PICTURE. You have it LOCKED into your mind how everything is SUPPOSED to happen, but you don’t see the big picture that God can EASILY SEE.
2. Now all of a sudden, you become smarter than God, and with good intentions, take matters into your own hands. Because you can’t see the big picture, you don’t understand, “It must happen this way.” The direction things are going is the direction God wants it to go.
3. Then when you realize your plan is not working, and you aren’t getting the results you wanted, then you want to vacate the premises.
Rather than persevere, and patiently follow God’s plan, you want to flee and get away as far as possible.
Stick To The Plan!!!! God’s Plan!!!! Let the outcome God is trying to get for you be fulfilled. Quit fighting it and quit running away.
He wants to take your situation and bring goodness to it. He has your best interest at heart! HE LOVES YOU!!!!
