Read Matthew 24:32-35
God’s Word Is Truth: Now And Forever.
Jesus compares his return to Earth with a Fig Tree. Jesus said, when you see a fig tree “when its branches have already become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.” Therefore we anticipate the coming of Summer and all that will happen with the fig tree and its producing of fruit. We look forward to it!
In the same way, Jesus says, “even so you too, when you see all these things [the signs of his return], recognize that he is near, right at the door.” Therefore we are to anticipate that the coming of Jesus is just around the corner.
All the signs that Jesus talked about, he said, “Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.” Then Jesus adds, “Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” In other words, what Jesus has said is truth. There will be many Life changes while we are on Earth. Life changes and cultural changes will occur from generation to generation, but God’s words will never change. What Jesus says is truth and we can hold on to his words as truth. So even when Heaven and Earth pass away his words will stay the same. So two things:
1. Be ready for the return of Jesus. Always be ready.
2. God’s word is truth and it never changes. There will be people that interpret God’s word based upon their culture. They make God’s word fit the belief system of their culture rather than allowing the word of God to transform the belief system of their culture. God’s word is truth, now and forever.
