Hey, I Have A Question!
Not long after the Pharisees’s disciples and Herodians tested Jesus in order to trap him, the Sadducees also questioned Jesus in order to trap him.
In our world today, following Jesus often draws attention from those who don’t believe. It never fails! Someone is always questioning our faith.
1. Some question it because they’re true seekers of Truth. That’s awesome!
2. Some question it because they want to “prove you wrong.” And
3. Some question it because they want to make your life a “Living Hell!” They are vicious. Truth and being rational are not a part of their process. Their emotions dictate truth not actual evidence.
I feel like the best response is:
1. Be a person of integrity before God. If someone is going to question you and your life, always strive for the truth of God and let your life of integrity be your defense. Trying to prove yourself with a lot of words doesn’t usually accomplish much. Let your life be your best defense.
2. Know why you believe what you believe. Knowing WHAT you believe and WHY can actually help you when people question you. Usually, do it without becoming emotional. Becoming emotional often puts you under control of your accusers. They want to get a rise from you. Don’t give them the satisfaction. In the right setting it can actually silence your accusers.
3. Always be a seeker of God’s truth. It’s important to expand your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God’s Truth. This is especially great for those who come to you who are sincerely seeking truth. But it’s also great in reminding you to be faithful when things get rough.
