What Clothes Are You Wearing? Part 1 – Those Rejected
Jesus tells a parable of a Marriage Feast and how it relates to the Kingdom Of Heaven.
A king gave a wedding feast and had invited many people to come. The king sent out his slaves to tell them that the feast was ready for them to attend. But they paid no attention and went on their way. Some gave excuses saying they had to go attend to their farm or their business. In other words, they were too busy!
But the rest of them seized the slaves and killed them. They wanted nothing to do with what the king had to offer. They were very content with the life they were already living.
The King was enraged and sent his armies and destroyed the murderers and their city. Then the king sent his slaves out into the streets to gather both the evil and the good for the wedding feast. The place was full. When the king entered and looked over the wedding guests, he saw a man not dressed in wedding clothes and wondered how he got in. He confronted the man and he was speechless. As a result, the king had his servants bind the man and cast him into outer darkness, in the place where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I’m wondering about this parable as it relates to the Kingdom Of Heaven. It appears everyone was invited: the good and the evil. God does not show partiality. He loves all so all are invited. But just because one is invited doesn’t mean they are accepted.
1. Who Are Those Who Were Rejected?
Those who make excuses. I’m too busy! I’ve got my job, my business, my family, my hobbies, my friends… And the list goes on. Excuses mean we missed what a relationship with Jesus is supposed to look like. Our faith with Jesus should be the center of all we do and all we say. Everything we do and say should be for the glory of God and not for ourselves. The moment we make our lives about us, we push God out of the center. A faith Walk With Jesus should be so Central of Our lives that it impacts our business, our job, our family, our hobbies, our friends, what we watch, what we say and do. EVERYTHING!
