What Clothes Are You Wearing?
I’m wondering about this parable as it relates to the Kingdom Of Heaven. It appears everyone was invited: the good and the evil. God does not show partiality. He loves all so all are invited. But just because one is invited doesn’t mean they are accepted.
1. Yesterday we talked about why some were rejected and couldn’t enter Heaven.
2. Today we are talking about what the criteria was in order to be Accepted Into The Kingdom Of Heaven?
We need to be dressed in the proper wedding clothes. The wedding clothes of Jesus relates to the Salvation he offers and relates to his righteousness.
– Isaiah 61:10 speaks of being clothed in the garments of Salvation and clothed in righteousness.
– 2 Corinthians 5:21 says in Christ we become the righteousness of God.
– Galatians 3:26-27 says if we are baptized into Christ, then we are clothed in Christ.
– Revelation 19:7-8 speaks of the bride of Christ who is dressed in fine linen which are the righteous acts of the followers of Christ, the Saints.
Are you wearing wedding clothes of salvation and righteousness? Or are you full of excuses and too busy? Do you feel you are good enough to enter into heaven without the proper attire? Do you think you can enter on your own merit?
When the king confronted the man at the banquet without the proper wedding attire, the man was speechless. Don’t stand before God on Judgment Day speechless. Stand dressed in the righteousness and salvation of Jesus. Otherwise you’ll be cast into a place of darkness where there will be the weeping and gnashing of teeth.
