Read Matthew 19:1-2
Take Advantage Of Every Opportunity God Gives You.
After Jesus finished talking about forgiveness, he left Galilee and went to Judea beyond the Jordan. A great multitude followed him and he healed them there.
This isn’t the first time a multitude followed Jesus, and it’s not the first time it says miracles of some type were performed. Jesus is always busy doing the Father’s work. He didn’t waste any time. Yes he took time to be refreshed. He took time to rest. He took time to be alone. He took time to laugh with his friends, and time to cry. We all need to take time for ourselves.
The problem that I think needs to be addressed is how easy it is for selfishness to creep in upon us. And as a result, we miss opportunities for the Lord.
Ephesians 5:8-20 is a great passage on recognizing how much of a battle it really is in fighting off temptations and evil. Verse 15 and 16 says to be careful how you live. Be wise because the days are evil. We are to make the most out of every opportunity God gives us.
Remember, I realize we all need our alone time, we really do. But I wonder how many opportunities I have missed because the things of the Lord got pushed away because of selfishness?
I don’t know about you, but it’s easy to fall into a selfish way of thinking and miss opportunities to touch a life.
Lord, thank you for using me to be a light in a dark world. But help me be more attuned to your Holy Spirit so I don’t let selfishness creep in and thus miss opportunities to minister to a life in need.
