Read Matthew 11:25-30
Come to Jesus. Keep Coming To Him!
Jesus is frustrated that he did all these miracles and people did not respond by following him. Despite all that, he still praises his Father. I pray that when we are frustrated, that we are still able to look to the Lord and praise him for his goodness.
Jesus says, “I praise you, oh Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that you did hide Your Truth from the wise and intelligent, and revealed your truth to babes.” The Greek word for ” babes” is Nepios which means babes, or one who is unlearned, unenlightened, simple, or innocent.
Vs 26 reminds us that God is pleased to reveal himself to us. He wants to reveal himself. So may we approach him daily with an open, humble, and simple heart, trusting that his wisdom will be revealed to us. May our hearts be open so we can hear his voice.
Jesus closes with this: “Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my load is light.”
Are you broken and weary? Come to Jesus and keep coming to him daily. He wants to give you rest. He says to “learn” from him. So don’t listen to the devil because he hates you and be careful of those who speak without having your spiritual well-being in your best interest.
“REST in Jesus” means to have confidence in his leading. It is to operate in faith and trust. The moment we take our eyes off of Jesus and focus on our circumstances and not on what God is doing or going to do, it’s then we find anxiety, worry, and fear which means “NO REST.”
