Read Matthew 11:12-19
Call Me What You Want, But God Knows The Truth!
[12] “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.”
Ever since John the Baptist and Jesus began their ministries, they have faced conflict and heavy opposition, especially from the religious leaders. Both John and Jesus faced harsh accusations accusing John of having a Demon and Jesus of being a drunkard and glutton.
Even 2,000 years later, we still have people who are violently fighting against the Christian faith and calling them names.
Vs 19 says, “But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.” in other words, despite what people said about John and Jesus, and even what people might say about us Christians today, the truth is demonstrated by our deeds. That’s what God sees and we will be rewarded accordingly.
Vs 14 is a fulfillment of O.T. Scripture (Malachi 4:5) reminding us that John the Baptist is the true forerunner for Jesus despite the opposition that comes against him.
May that encourages us to stay faithful even when we face the worst opposition!
