What Does Jesus’s Death and Resurrection Mean To You?
Jesus began to teach his disciples that the Son Of Man, Jesus, must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after 3 days rise again.
Jesus just shares the worst thing that could ever happen to him, but it’s the greatest gift of love that he could offer us: Salvation! He would be rejected by “intelligent” men who study Scripture but will deny the very man that all scripture prophesied would come and save the world.
Even Peter rebuked Jesus for saying such things not seeing the value in Jesus’s death and Resurrection. Jesus rebuked Peter for missing the interest of God for humankind, for Peter put man’s interest over God’s interest.
Do we love Jesus? What does his death and resurrection mean to us? How does it affect our everyday lives? Does Jesus’s Death and Resurrection influence our everyday life choices or are we more interested in running our life our way versus God’s way?
Are we like the “intelligent” men who wanted nothing to do with Jesus and wanted him out of their lives completely? Are we running from God because we want to run our lives our own way? We want to be in control and not God!
Or are we like Peter? We mean well and we believe in Jesus, but we end up putting our interests before the interests of God. We believe in God but we don’t really understand what scripture says. As a result we live our lives the way we want to and deny what God is wanting to accomplish in and through our lives?
Or are we willing to live and die for our Savior? We are full of Thanksgiving for all he has done for us! Therefore we surrender our lives completely to the Lord. We have declared to him his will over our will. His desires over our desires. We are willing to go wherever he calls us, and do whatever he wants us to do.
Jesus, here am I, send me!!
