Read Mark 3:20-27
Being 100% Devoted!
Again Jesus entered a house and again a multitude followed him. The house was so full they weren’t even able to do food preparations and eat. When his own family heard what was going on they wanted to take charge of Jesus because they said, “He is out of his mind!”
The teachers of the law also came down and began to make horrible accusations against Jesus. They said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul. By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
Jesus is following the will of his father and preaching truth while loving and touching lives. He heals people and casts out demons. Then two groups of people make accusations against him:
1. His family and 2. The religious leaders. His family said he was crazy while the religious leaders said he was possessed by a demon.
Jesus addressed the accusation that he was possessed by the prince of demons. The accusation was so ludicrous and so absurd that it didn’t even make sense. It wasn’t even logical. They said by the prince of demons he cast out demons. Why would the devil want to cast out demons. If Satan wants to build his kingdom, he must attack the righteous and holy people in Christ in order to overcome them and overpower them with lies and deception. The last thing he’s going to do is remove any evil influence so as not to allow any light of Truth to enter into the heart of a person. Remember what Jesus said in John, that he came to give life and the devil came to deceive, destroy, and kill. The devil will never weaken his power by casting out demons.
To be devoted to Jesus 100% means you’re going to walk a path that the world rejects.
To give in to the deceptions of this world, or to give in because of the persecution and accusations of this world, including from your family members, is to yield to the deception of the world that says you’re wrong.
If you’re going to be devoted 100% to the Lord, then stand firm and put on the armor of God, and walk in faith. Don’t let the lies of this world tear you down so that you become ineffective in reaching people for Jesus. Then you never reach your full potential. God help us all to be totally surrendered to you. Help us all to be willing to walk the path that you have walked before us, regardless of the persecutions and accusations that are thrown at us. Empower us by your Holy Spirit to walk faithfully with you now and to the end.
