Are You Teachable? Who Are You Teaching?
It says that “Jesus went out again by the seashore; and all the multitude were coming to him, and he was teaching them.”
I’m imagining the multitude of people listening. How many had a teachable spirit? How many heard God’s word and really wanted to apply it in their lives? How many saw how life-changing his words really were? How many saw the Hope for their lives in his words?
Romans 5:1-5 talks about what Christ did for us at the cross and because of what he did we can have PEACE with God by FAITH. It also says we can BOAST in the HOPE of the glory of God. It goes on to say we can Glory Even in our SUFFERINGS. Because of the hope of the Lord, we can even Glory in our sufferings! Why? Because it says suffering produces perseverance. Our perseverance produces godly character. Our godly character produces HOPE. If we can understand true hope then we can see the value in persevering and never giving up.
The Lord wants to teach us in every situation so that we look more and more like Jesus in how we live, act, and think. We are guaranteed HOPE!
Now imagine if we saw the value of teaching others these same truths. Imagine us using every day circumstances as an opportunity to teach others about God’s love, the value of Prayer, the value of suffering, the value of perseverance, the value of looking more and more like Jesus, the value of Hope so we keep persevering and never give up. But also the value of purpose! We all have a purpose to carry out God’s call for our lives. And God is wanting to perfect our character and purpose now and until the day we leave this earth. Are you teachable? Are you teaching others? May we all find Glory and Hope in every life circumstances, including our sufferings!
