Read Mark 1:35-39
So This Is The Direction You Have For My Life?!?
After Jesus spent several evening hours healing a multitude of people and casting out demons, he withdrew to a lonely place to pray. In the morning hours, Jesus’ disciples were looking for him because everyone wanted to see Jesus. Jesus responded, “Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, in order that I may preach there also; for this is what I came out for.” As a result, Jesus went into the synagogues throughout Galilee preaching and casting out demons.
I love reading how Jesus took the time to pray, especially during the busy time of ministry. I love how after praying, he was rejuvenated for more Ministry and also had a renewed vision as to where he was to travel for preaching and healing people.
Are you trying to figure out God’s call on your life? Are you trying to figure out your next steps for Ministry? Find a place of solitude and pray and read God’s word and meditate on it. He will reveal himself to you. He will make his paths and plans known to you. He will give you a peace for your next steps.
Jeremiah 29:11 is a popular verse: “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plan to give you hope and a future.” People often read this verse, then shut their Bibles, and say Amen! But I like the next two verses. “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me, and you will find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
Do you want to know God’s plan for your life? Do you want to know the path he has for you to travel on? Then call upon him in prayer. He will listen to your cries and he will respond. In fact, seek him with all your heart and he will reveal his heart for you. He will reveal his plans for you. He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”
As you seek him with all your heart, TRUST him. Be PATIENT with him! He will reveal his plan and give you peace about it. There are times that I have poured my heart out to God and felt a vivid plan in my heart on what to do for my next steps. But more often than not, it was me daily seeking the Lord over and over again. I remember battling through prayer not finding peace until the proper appointed time. God made it clear to me, eventually. And there was peace. Seek the Lord with all your heart. Trust him. He will direct you. He will give you peace.
