Have I Sparked Your Interest Yet?
A teacher of the law had been observing Jesus as he debated with some of the spiritual leaders. This man was impressed with Jesus’s answers and it drew him to seek more answers from Jesus. It drove him to ask Jesus what the most important commandment is? Jesus answered that we should love the Lord Our God with all our hearts, soul, mind, and strength. Then Jesus said the second greatest commandment is to love our neighbors as ourselves.
The teacher of the law commended and complimented Jesus for his wise answers. What Jesus said really captivated the man’s heart, so much so, that Jesus said to the man, “You are not far from the kingdom of God!” In other words, this teacher of the law was very close to Salvation all because of the attractive life of Jesus.
Our walk with Christ should be a life of consistency. When people observe us, they should see something different about us, something attractive about how we live and talk. Our love for God and for others should actually draw others in, so they can learn more about WHO we are and WHAT we stand for. And as they are drawn in, and ask questions, the testimony of our faith will be a huge factor that could help solidify Christ’s truth in their lives. And at the least, help draw them closer to the truth.
Let people see the consistency of your heart commitment. If you’re a fence rider with your faith, it will destroy your testimony for Jesus. Let your faith walk be a natural part of your everyday life. Don’t let it be just something you live out on Sundays or when you’re around other Christians.
Let us all be God’s tool today so we can spark the interest of others for Jesus!
