Read Mark 10:23-27
That Person Will Never Surrender To The Lord!
A man who valued his wealth more than he valued a relationship with the Lord, walked away from following God because he couldn’t let go of his god, his wealth. Jesus said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Then Jesus went on to say, “It is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter into the kingdom of God.” The disciples were amazed at Jesus’s comment and asked, “Who then can be saved?” The disciples saw how “impossible” Jesus’s comment made it sound for a rich person to enter heaven, that they asked, “Who can be saved!” But Jesus put things into proper perspective by saying, “With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible with God!”
I would like to emphasize the value of PRAYER. We all need to be transparent and honest with ourselves, and with others: what in this world are we holding on to so strongly that it has become our god and has hurt our relationship with the Lord?
Also, think of a loved one whose heart is just as hard as the wealthy man’s heart who couldn’t let go of his god, his wealth. Perhaps our loved one is holding on to their wealth as well, or perhaps something else in this world has captivated their heart. As a result you are broken inside and your heart hurts for them because you want to see them living for the Lord. You look at them and think how “impossible” it is to see them coming to the Lord and serving him with all their heart. Let this motivate us to be diligent and persistent in prayer for this loved one because nothing is impossible with our God. I prayed 25 years for my dad to give his life to the Lord. Was it worth the wait? When you put it into perspective and compare it to eternity, then yes, it was worth the wait! I did a lot of praying, but it was worth it!
