Read Luke 8:41-56
“It’s Not Over!”
As Jesus continued to minister and speak to the crowd, “a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’s feet, pleading with him to come to his house because his only daughter, a girl about 12 years old, was dying.”
Think of Jairus being in a hurry to get Jesus home to heal his daughter. Then think of the joy and Hope renewed in his heart to see Jesus start to go with him. Then to have obstacles and delays along the way.
1. Jesus couldn’t be in a hurry because the crowd was so large that they almost crushed Jesus. This definitely caused a delay.
2. A woman approached Jesus for healing of her own. It was a beautiful thing but it took attention away from Jairus and his daughter.
3. Jairus was met with the news that his daughter was dead. “It’s Over!”
Imagine all the thoughts going through the mind of Jairus. If only they were not met with so much delay and obstacles. Imagine his frustration and brokenness. All hope has been sucked out of his life. But it was then that he heard the voice of Jesus say, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” And as Jesus got to their house he rose her from the dead.
What situations are you facing that have you seeking and pleading with God for his intervention. Now, what obstacles have occurred resulting in delays? What are your emotions? Frustration? Dismay? Hopelessness? It’s over?
God is not bound by obstacles or delays. Keep pursuing the Lord with prayers and brokenness before God. Persevere through the obstacles and delays. It’s not over!!! God still has a plan!!!
