Can You See The Transformation Of Christ In My Life?
Jesus, along with his disciples, go to Geresenes. A demon possessed man, when he sees Jesus, runs to him. He cried out, fell at his feet, and shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torture me.” The man had many demons and no one was able to control him. The demons had a hold of this man’s life and he just couldn’t be controlled.
Jesus was commanding the evil spirits to come out of the man. But they begged Jesus to let them enter into the herd of pigs because they didn’t want to be cast into the abyss. So Jesus cast them into the pigs which then the pigs ran into the water and drowned. Those tending the herd then went to the countryside and told everyone what happened. People came out and saw that the pigs had died and that the man had been set free. All this made the people afraid and they asked Jesus to leave. Jesus got into the boat and the man set free from the demons was going to go with Jesus, but Jesus did not let him. Jesus told the man to return to his home and tell the people what God had done for him.
3 Thoughts:
1. When the devil has a hold on a life, things get very uncomfortable for this person when the things of Jesus are present. People get very uncomfortable. They end up isolating themselves or get very irrational, loud and very degrading with words. It’s because the devil hates the things of God and is fighting against that which can set a person free.
2. Jesus is the only one that can set a person free from the bondage of sin. Nothing is more important than seeing a person set free, even at the cost of a thousand pigs.
3. When Jesus transforms our lives, we have a great opportunity to share what Jesus did for us with those who are from our hometown because they knew who we were before Jesus and now they see the actual transformation afterwards. Each transformation acts as a testimony of God’s power and when people see it we hope that they will want the same Jesus we have.
