Read Luke 5:30-32

We Need To Hang Out With Sinners.

When Levi, the tax collector, was asked to be one of Jesus’s disciples, he accepted and then threw a banquet for Jesus out of excitement. He invited many of his tax collector friends. The Pharisees and teachers of the law complained to Jesus’s disciples, asking, “Why do you eat and drink with sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

How often do you hear someone say, “You need to hang out with sinners.” In essence, that’s what Jesus was saying. You can’t save a sinner from a broken life without Jesus unless we hang out with them and share Jesus with them. Here’s the problem, when we hang out with those who don’t know Jesus, we need to make sure our faithful lifestyle pulls them towards Jesus rather than them pulling us towards the devil.

Here are some principles I think we can apply in doing this:

1. Build loving relationships with lost people.

2. Do so with the intent of letting them see a changed life in Jesus rather than letting them change your life away from Jesus.

3. The Salvation of their Soul is very important.

4. Point them to Jesus through your actions and words in hopes that they grasp this powerful message and it causes them to repent of their sins into a new life with Jesus.

CHALLENGE: Pray that God helps you build a relationship with one person who you can show love and compassion to, and then use you to help point them to Jesus through your actions and words.
