Read Luke 4:31-37
Power and Authority Versus Defeat and Weakness.
Jesus went to Capernaum in Galilee and on the Sabbath he taught the people. They were amazed at his teachings because his words had authority. In fact, there was a man there who was possessed by a demon. The demon was afraid of Jesus and called Jesus “The Holy One of God.” Jesus told the demon to be quiet and to come out of the man. The demon came out and the man was set free. The people were amazed at Jesus’s authority and power and news about Him spread throughout the surrounding area.
By whose power and authority do you operate under? Do people see you as one with power and authority or as one with little confidence and walking around in defeat? Do you know who you are in Christ? Then walk in HIS POWER and HIS AUTHORITY and don’t let the devil discourage you and deceive you into walking around sulking and feeling defeated. People see that as weakness and either won’t respect you or will take advantage of you. Quit believing life is over with no hope!
Remember, your everyday circumstances are a spiritual battle. Confront them with power and authority!! When the devil looks like he has control, speak daily (if need be) to the devil by rebuking him and telling him he has no Authority in your circumstances and do so with confidence and with authority. Trust God is at work moving within your circumstances.
Let people see your love, your holiness, your confidence and your Authority because you’re in Christ and not in the world. Let them see your power because your power is the word of God and the devil’s power is deception and lies. Speak against him and smile when you do it because you know in due time God will destroy such evil within the hearts of people. Don’t quit!
