I’ll Be Back!
The devil tempted Jesus 40 days and nights while Jesus was in the wilderness and without food. The devil tried hard to break him down and get him to choose the pleasures of this world over the things of the Lord. But Jesus was faithful through it all. It wasn’t easy but victory came.
Verse 13 says, “When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left Jesus until an opportune time.”
Let me ask, has the devil been trying to tear you down? Has he been trying to destroy you and your faith? Have you been faithful and experienced victory in your life. If so, let me say a huge CONGRATULATIONS and a loud PRAISE THE LORD!!! It’s great news to hear testimonies of victories in people’s lives. It’s exciting! But please, don’t let the victories result in confidence in self, as if it was by your strength that enabled your victory. Don’t let arrogance slip into your heart because the devil will be back. He doesn’t give up. Always be on guard and alert (I Peter 5:8). The devil will be back with new attempts to DISCOURAGE you, DECEIVE you, DISTRACT you, and DESTROY you.
Always STAND FIRM. Always RESIST. (I Peter 5:9). Always put your HOPE in the LORD and the WORD of GOD.
I’m proud of your victories. But don’t be discouraged if you have failed! Get up! Get refocused! Ask for forgiveness and it will be given to you. God will then strengthen you and empower you for the next attack the devil brings to you. Remember, greater is Christ who lives in us than the devil who lives in this world.
