Read Luke 19:28-34
FASCINATING!
Jesus and his disciples are traveling to Jerusalem. When they arrive at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sends two of his disciples to a village. As they enter the village, Jesus said, “You will find a Colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you ‘Why are you untying it, tell them the Lord needs it.'” As the two disciples went to the village they found the Colt just as Jesus told them. And the owner asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” They replied, “The Lord needs it.”
Two things that fascinate me about this passage:
1. Jesus told the two disciples to go to a village where they would find a colt and everything happened just as he said. Coincidence? Or the Power of God? Has anything ever happened to you and you thought, “Wow, that was crazy! Was that God or was it just a coincidence?” I’m not real big on COINCIDENCES because what happens results in bringing glory to God. His power is shown so that we might believe in him. So let’s give credit where credit is due.
2. Jesus asked for a colt because he needed it! What is God asking of you that he needs in order to demonstrate his power, and help point people to Christ? If God is asking you for it, then give it up. Don’t hold on to it because you think one day you’ll need it. God needs it now! Don’t worry about tomorrow. Surrender it today.
I pray that you will see God’s power today and I pray that he will use you to demonstrate that power. Blessings!
