Read Luke 17:26-27
Do You Remember Your Creator Or Have You Forgotten Him?
One day Jesus will return to Earth as he enters into the final judgment. What will the days be like when he returns?
It will be like it was in the days of Noah. People were eating, drinking, and getting married. People were busy with the responsibilities of everyday life: parents were taking their kids to Rock baseball practice, watermelon football practice, coconut soccer practice, cross country practice, and parents were busy planning the next dinosaur cookout where there was eating and drinking and being merry. In the meantime, the things of God were soon forgotten. This life began to consume more and more of their attention. And the God who created them with such great love, and great value, significance, and with great purpose was soon forgotten. They once couldn’t wait to be in the word of God or in Church fellowship. They couldn’t wait to serve the Lord and tell others about him. But something happened. It was such a slow gradual thing that they can’t even remember how it started, but the things of this world began to captivate their attention away from the Lord. Did they quit going to church first or did they quit reading the scriptures first? It doesn’t matter because they quit both.
The world became so important that they lost their spiritual purpose. They lost sight of their creator, and God sent a flood and people died in his judgment. That’s what it will be like when Jesus returns today. People will be busy with the things of this world, their everyday responsibilities, except the things of God. When Jesus returns and gathers his followers there will be those who will be left behind. They will face God’s final judgment. Do you remember your creator or have you forgotten him?
