Scripture Doesn’t Apply To Me Anymore
Jesus said the law and the prophets have been preached up until John the Baptist. But now the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached. Jesus said, “Everyone is now forcing their way into it.” In other words, people are acting like the law and the prophets are no longer significant and have replaced it with hypocrisy. People are not taking seriously what the law and the prophet says and act as if there’s no accountability necessary in entering the Kingdom Of God. They act like they can just force their way into it and that Scripture no longer applies to them. Jesus emphasizes this when he says,”It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for one stroke of the law to be altered or taken out.”
And that’s what our culture has done. It’s taken God’s word and manipulated it to say whatever it wants. Our culture thinks we’re heaven bound when in fact many are living a life of deception and have become hypocrites. Many are not sold out for Jesus and his holiness.
Lord Jesus, help me to take your Scripture seriously so that I never live in a world of hypocrisy. Reveal my sin so that I can be holy before you. Amen.
