Read Luke 15:8-10
Rejoicing Over The Lost Being Found.
This parable of the lost coin is about a woman who has 10 silver coins and loses one. It goes in detail of what the woman did to find that lost coin.
1. She lit a lamp.
2. She swept the whole house.
3. She searched carefully.
She did all three of these things diligently until she found it. And when she found it,
1. She calls her friends and neighbors together.
2. And together they rejoiced over the finding of the lost coin.
Jesus ends this parable reminding us that there is great rejoicing in heaven when one lost soul repents of their sin and turns to Christ. I’m captivated with how there’s great rejoicing over the Lost being Found.
But I’m also captivated by the person who was diligent in going after the Lost coin and see that as a challenge for us Christians to be diligent and intentional when we are reaching out to Lost souls. Just as the woman had a plan that she was intentional and diligent to follow, may we be equally as intentional and diligent as we reach out to Lost souls. May we be diligent in:
1. Praying for the lost soul.
2. Investing in their lives and taking advantage of every opportunity to love on the person through acts of kindness, compliments, and words of encouragement.
3. Praying for opportunities to share Jesus with them verbally or even invite them to church or church events.
4. And if they give their lives to the Lord, then share the good news as a testimony of God’s greatness so there can be rejoicing both on earth as well as in heaven.
