Read Luke 13:18-21
I’m So Excited And I Just Can’t Hide It!
Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed, which is very small, but it grows into a large tree. He also compares the Kingdom of God to yeast that, when hidden in flour, causes the whole batch of dough to rise. The Kingdom of God, like the mustard seed, has a humble beginning. First it’s Christ who appears, but then came the disciples, then at Pentecost we see thousands of new followers. Next, like yeast, the Gospel of Jesus expands throughout the world. Who would have thought that one man, God’s Son, coming to Earth would have resulted in so many changed and transformed lives?
Today, God is looking for people who are willing to humbly say, “Here am I Lord, Send Me!” I look at my own life and I started as a very selfish person. When I surrendered my life to Christ, I’ve seen the work of the Holy Spirit in my life. It’s been a slow and humbling beginning but as I daily surrender my life for God’s will versus my will, I’ve seen the transforming power of God in and through my life. He has gifted me and used me to help expand his kingdom. I’ve had the chance to share the gospel around the world and disciple people into a closer walk with Christ. The Holy Spirit has changed me and expanded me and He will do the same with all of us. I have a long ways to go, but by the grace of God, I’m in for life. I don’t want to look back to the old life but, instead, always look forward to what new opportunities God has for me, and his followers. I’m so excited about what God’s going to do. I want you to be excited as well. Don’t limit God. Don’t give up! He’s not done expanding and transforming.
